چکیده
More and more people are moving to cities, resulting in than half of the world's population living today urban areas. The impact physical environment on cognition has been a subject study environmental psychology, but findings have inconclusive due its complexity. While some studies indicated negative correlation between urbanization cognitive abilities, others found no significant effects. current investigates relationship urbanicity, multitasking perceptual style. Specifically, aims determine whether individuals highly environments exhibit different abilities compared those low urbanicity style mediates this relationship. Previous research suggests that rural residents show local bias better attentional control, which may affect their abilities. Participants were recruited from two distinct postcode areas UK classified as urbanicity-high urbanicity-low based percentage features present. Our association However, additional analyses revealed other variables related engagement with environment, such time spent outdoors, nature associated This goes line previous showing restorative effects short-term exposure can cognition. Additionally, we examined using global-local visual processing task. In research, dwellers showed global less Overall, our results suggest live is way they process information.

Nutritional Epidemiology Decreased Consumption of Dried Mature Beans Is Positively Associated with Urbanization and Nonfatal Acute Myocardial Infarction
Legumes may protect against myocardial infarction (MI). The objective of this study was to determine whether consumption of dried mature beans (referred to as beans), the main legume in Latin America, is associated with MI. The cases (n 2119) were survivors of a first acute MI and were matched by age, sex, and area of residence to randomly selected population controls (n 2119) in Costa Rica. Di...
متن کاملPhysical Activity Is Positively Associated with Episodic Memory in Aging.
Aging is associated with performance reductions in executive function and episodic memory, although there is substantial individual variability in cognition among older adults. One factor that may be positively associated with cognition in aging is physical activity. To date, few studies have objectively assessed physical activity in young and older adults, and examined whether physical activit...
متن کاملPD43 - Body fat mass is positively associated with pediatric asthma
Background Prevalence of pediatric overweight/obesity and pediatric asthma has been on the rise, with both conditions currently reaching epidemic proportions. Their concurrent rise alludes to potentially common characteristics of their pathophysiologic mechanisms; furthermore, excess fat mass may facilitate asthma induction via obesity-related inflammatory mediators, oxidant stress and mechanic...
متن کاملIncidental physical activity is positively associated with cardiorespiratory fitness.
PURPOSE The primary aim was to determine whether incidental physical activity (IPA), expressed either as duration or intensity, was associated with cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF). METHODS Participants were inactive abdominally obese men (n = 43, waist circumference ≥ 102 cm) and women (n = 92, waist circumference ≥ 88 cm) recruited from Kingston, Canada. IPA (>100 counts per minute) was dete...
متن کاملIs Sudden Hearing Loss Associated with Atherosclerosis?
Introduction: Sudden sensorineural hearing-loss (SSNHL) patients constitute approximately 2–3% of referrals to ear, nose and throat (ENT) clinics. Several predisposing factors have been proposed for this condition; one of which is vascular disorders and perfusion compromise. In this research the atherosclerotic changes and their known risk factors are studied in SSNHL patients. Materials and ...
